From August 25 to 29, 2025, the EUSSET Summer School took place at TU Wien, an inspiring and intensive format for international doctoral students and professors in the field of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). The host was Univ.Prof. Hilda Tellioglu, who, with great dedication, made possible a week full of exciting lectures, project work, and exchange.
The European Society for Socially Embedded Technologies (EUSSET) is an interdisciplinary network that deals with the design and analysis of technologies embedded in social contexts. The Summer School offers young researchers the opportunity to exchange ideas with leading experts, discuss current research topics, and further develop their own projects.
The program:
- Introduction to CSCW and key concepts
- Qualitative research methods
- Discussions on data ethics
- Project work in international teams
- Final presentations and feedback rounds
CTS was able to listen in, learn, and gain valuable insights into the international CSCW community throughout the week.
A special highlight was the social dinner organized and sponsored by CTS on Thursday evening on the Badeschiff on the Danube Canal. In summery weather, participants networked, laughed, and enjoyed the Viennese atmosphere, a successful end to an intense day.
CTS is delighted to have been part of this successful event and to support the next generation of researchers. The week showed how important interdisciplinary exchange and collaborative learning are for the future of technology development.
