In 2020 the Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS) is introducing an algorithm (AMAS) intended to support the allocation of funding. The so-called “AMS algorithm” is contested. ITA and TU Wien are analysing its technical specifics and societal effects in cooperation with the Chamber of Labour.

We have been researching the AMS algorithm for some time and are puzzled by the current debate surrounding it.
