The CTSi – Center for Technology-driven Social Innovation is once again hosting its public Science Insights seminar series during the 2026/27 winter semester. These online lectures are designed to bring together students, researchers, experts, and interested individuals from various disciplines and to open up new perspectives on current challenges and developments at the intersection of technology, society, and innovation.

The energy transition is making critical infrastructure more connected, more digital and more dependent on communication networks. At the TEB AI Hackathon by The Energy Bridge, interdisciplinary teams spend one weekend building prototypes that make energy systems more resilient against cyberattacks, physical disruption and failures.

We rely on feeling protected when we use a technology. Whether we actually are is another question. In the next Science Insight of CTSi//circle.responsibleComputing, Rafael Vrecar shows when and why the two come apart.

Dr.in techn. Olivia Fischer successfully defended her dissertation at TU Wien. As a doctoral researcher in the STEAM – STEM – stART’em doctoral college (STE[A+]M), which was established with the significant involvement of the CTSi at TU Wien and is run jointly by TU Wien and the University College of Teacher Education Vienna (PH Wien), her research contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on innovative teaching and learning approaches at the intersection of technology and education.
