Abstract: The talk will cover the topics of responsible computing and user studies, what one should consider when designing a technology solution, and consequently when designing the responding user study. Firstly, the term responsible research and innovation will be introduced to the audience and why it is important, covering some key aspects. Furthermore, different types of user research methods will be described and explained how one should approach the process of designing and developing a solution from start to finish - after topic definition what and who should be considered and how to achieve that. After the general topics a case study will be described, on the topic of designing a software solution and drawing conclusions on what helps people in learning a new motor skill, introducing different modes of learning from visual and audio to gamified learning. After the case study description, lessons learned and advice for future work will be covered.
Further seminar dates for 2024 will be announced at a later time.
