In the beginning, TU Wien Rector Sabine Seidler welcomed the attendees and briefly looked back on CTSi’ time so far as well as into its ambitious future. The rest of the event was moderated by Anna Franzkowiak (organizational director) and Hilda Tellioğlu (academic director). The first project presented was “Storytelling by Students”, which had a unique selling point through its short film screening. Christian Peer then presented “Lectures 4 Future”, followed by Michael Urbanek and his team, who spoke about the project “Blocked Underground”. The presentation of “Skill Sharing” by Hilda Tellioğlu and “EnviSense” by Gerfried Mikusch provided the audience with exciting concepts and ideas. “FU[TU]RE experts” brought the content to a close with the presentation of their initiative. The encore, so to speak, was the review of past events and the outlook for future events, with particular emphasis on the AK Hackathon 2022, Alpbach 2022, and the CTSi//TUA.summerschool 2023. Afterward, refreshing drinks and snacks offered the opportunity for an intensive exchange, of questions to the projects as well as to the CTSi team. The flipcharts were actively used, and numerous networking discussions were held. The participants appreciated the open atmosphere and the opportunity to contact the project managers directly. With the CTSi//midsommar.2023, we succeeded in facilitating an informative but also informal exchange between the CTSi partners and CTSi interested parties and in directing the view of current technological and social projects in an exciting way. The CTSi team would like to thank everyone for their active participation and is already looking forward to the next Midsommar event next year. The slides of the event are available here (PDF). |
